Workout songs were kid stuff.  This week time for a brain stretch trying to put a soundtrack to the stages of life – innocent childhood, angsty adolescence, wise old age – and that tricky spot in the middle where you wake up one day, realize you’re a grown up and have to deal with it.

First up, carefree youth.  Peter Pan chose never to leave here.  Most adults wish they had that option.  Since time machines haven’t been invented yet, here are a few songs both melancholy and whimsical that will bring you back to those blissful times…

Atmosphere “In Her Music Box”

Delta Spirit “Children”

Jack Johnson “Banana Pancakes”

Sia “Playground”

The White Stripes “We’re Going To Be Friends”

Wilco “Just A Kid”

Plus a couple…interesting recommendations “songs have nothing to do with the theme of childhood just MY childhood” Anyone else?

Toni Braxton “You’re Makin Me High”

Collective Soul “December”

And a couple amazing and enchanting videos that got thrown my way today…

In addition to a little bonus that was all over the interwebs today, but is perfectly appropriate for todays theme. Be amazed.  Smile.  Enjoy.
