Despite spending 2005 studying abroad in a country where Heineken was the cheapest bear available, I still can’t stand the taste. That being said, my dislike of the beer itself doesn’t change the fact that Heineken has some amazing advertisements.
This Heineken ad by W+K Amsterdam is fantastic. Aptly named “The Entrance,” the spot uses the track “The Golden Age” by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour off their 2009 debut album Fruit. Check it out below…
The lead actor in the spot is amazing. I want to be friends with him. I need to be friends with him. I’m sorry to Dos Equis, but Heineken’s debonair party-goer just took the title of “The Most Interesting Man in World.” If I had a choice of having a beer with either guy, I would definitely be grabbing a Heineken.
Hailing from Denmark, the producer/singer duo are not new to the ad game. The Asteroids Galaxy Tour broke onto the scene in 2008 with the standout track “Around the Bend,” in Apple’s iPod Touch ad. Along with this ad, the Galaxy Tour have released a new EP (sadly not available in the United States). With a super catchy sound and awesome vibe, I feel this is just the tip of the iceberg for The Asteroids Galaxy Tour.
