Here it is. The obligatory end of year list. As is the case with every year, I try to keep track of albums I love starting in January. Then all of a sudden December rolls around and I feel confident I missed a ton, or glossed over some great ones. I have lofty ambitions to revisit certain albums (Django Django, CHAPPO, Fiona Apple, etc.) and then it never happens.
Disclaimer now done, here is a list of 20 albums and 10 EPs (in no particular order) that I really enjoyed this year, and recommend checking out!

After the success of the first installment of Chrysler’s “Imported From Detroit” campaign in the Superbowl, it’s no surprise that they kept to the same formula. Only this time it’s not the Real Slim Shady and “Lose Yourself’.”
As with all highly anticipated soundtracks, I wanted to wait until I actually saw the movie before passing final judgement, and I have to say I’m surprised at the assessment I’m about to make. The biggest revelation being that while Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is definitely a very music oriented film, its prime motif is video games. The editing, the music, the production design, the costume design, style, special effects, everything – are all geared to support this. I know, I know, everyone else knew that but me. And I did know it. But now I understand just how important it is for anyone taking a listen to the soundtrack to be aware of that.
